UP!
I'm notoriously bad at keeping up with things, but I figure this will at least give me something to write about!

{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

I'm going to do 100 things about living in Japan. I think there'll be enough shit for me to talk about!

Anyone who'd like to read it, you can check out my Dreamwidth at: http://genki-rocket.dreamwidth.org/ . All entries will be cross-posted here, though! If you want to add me, I'd prefer if you added my DW because my LJ is pretty personal at times :)

I've decided to make my LJ friends-only. Something I've been meaning to do for a while but never got around to.

If you'd like to be my friend on LJ, leave a comment! I'll pretty much add anyone, I think.

Oh, P.S! Friends cut!

Okay, so I'm watching Eurovision on Youtube...but I don't know if it's the Eurovision that everyone else (in Europe) is watching XD

So here's what I've seen so far:

Israel is in Eurovision?!Collapse )

Gas prices in San Antonio, Texas

Yesterday (5/21) - $3.59

Yesterday (5/21) sometime in the afternoon - $3.69

Today (5/22) - $3.75

------------------

Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK?!

How can gas prices mysteriously raise ten cents within the span of a few hours? When I drove my brother to school at 7:00 AM yesterday morning, the station by house was $3.59. WhenI went to work, it had jumped to $3.69 and then today I drove by and it was seven cents higher!!

The evidence of price gouging is disgustingly obvious. If When it hits $4 a gallon, I'm going to stop driving. I'll get a fucking bike or something. Unless I need to drive downtown or something. This is ridiculous.

lololol

Ahaha! I love this!

I hung out with Laura yesterday.

She is so amazing. Just to find out all the shit she's been through in the nine years that we've been apart from each other was both heartbreaking and impressive. She's such a strong person now and I'm so glad that she's not entirely fucked up by the events that have happened in her life.

Laura told me story after story after story and I just sat there listening like a child. She seems so much more older than I do and she's only a month younger. She has a baby now. His name is Zeke and he's adorable. Her husband is in California doing desert training because he's going to be going to Iraq in a month.

We reminisced about our childhood and how amazing it was. She reminded me of things I had completely forgotten about (including the fact that we had "dated" in seventh grade for like, a week!) and I told her of things that she had forgotten. We laughed a lot and talked about how awesome living on our base was.

It was awesome to hear things about myself that I had forgotten. She said that I've always been a happy, nice kid. It's just nice to hear that from someone who knew me back then. Sometimes I feel like I don't remember it at all. I'm glad I have someone now that confirm these memories.

She's going to be here until June 19th and then she'll be back in August to live here for a while. I can't wait. We were childhood friends and I lost contact with her for nine years. This time, it won't happen again.

So I downloaded the JET Programme 2008-2009 handbook today. I practically read the entire thing.

This could be a bad thing, seeing as how I've not applied to it yet haha. I'm just so excited for this and the wait is killing me.

The only kicker is that I'm not sure I'll be finished with my degree in time. After this summer/fall semester...I'll only have four classes left to take. This could be problematic though, seeing as UTSA is really dumb and doesn't always offer the classes that everyone needs.

So we'll see. I think I'm going to set up an appointment with my counselor. He'll point me in the right direction. I think it'll be possible. Hopefully I don't kill myself in the process, though.

It's funny how the JET Programme is one of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) why I'm pursuing my degree :P If I don't land it the first time, I'll be disappointed...but I can just keep working and save up until the opportunity comes around again (October).

I still can't wait, though :)

So I got my tax refund check and spent the majority of it on two games XD It was only $97, though. I got this awesome game for the DS called "The World Ends With You". To all the DS owners out there, I highly reccommend you pick it up! It's AWESOME.

Happy Mother's Day bla bla bla! I got my mom a San Antonio Spurs shirt :D She liked it. I always think that commercial holidays like these are lame, but whatever, I bit. I show my appreciation for her every day, anyway.

Here's a weird fact: My little brother's birthday is today - May 11th. My birthday is on June 15th this year. June 15th is Father's Day. This happens once every like...four or five years where Vaughn's birthday falls on Mother's Day and mine falls on Father's Day haha.

HEY! Wanna see cute kittens?!

What is it with me finding cute animals recently?!Collapse )

In other news...NOTHING! XD

WOO! I took my one and only "final" today! I think I probably got like a B or a C on it. No big deal, I think my grade in that class is pretty solid anyway.

I found out that I got a B in Language and Communication Theory! So FUCK YES! This teacher is known throughout the Communication department for being a hard-ass grader and so many people have taken his class and been chewed up and spit out with a C or a D. I'm quite proud that I managed a B! I only know one girl who got an A out of like...the 60+ people in my class! :D!

This has definitely been one of the hardest semesters of my college career, but hey! I made it through! It was just a lot of work! I didn't really like it, but at the same time I did if that makes sense.

I have nothing to do now except work and summer school!! :D I normally wouldn't be too excited about summer school, but 1) The teachers I'm taking are really cool 2) The classes I'm taking will GREATLY help to push me ahead in my degree plan and 3) I'm planning on going to the Rec Center before/after classes. That's exciting!

On a completely unrelated note: LOOKIT THA POOCH!!! SHE'S SO. FUCKING. ADORABLE!!!!

Her name is Morgan and she belongs to my friend up in Austin. The one who I saw M.I.A. with. She's so soft and she's one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen! She's so nice, too! I just thought I'd pimp her out here because she's so "D'awww!-worthy"

Hm. The anonymeme seemed to not be such a good idea. Apparently, I have a lot of passive-aggressive people on my friends list. I think there's a difference between "Brutal honesty" and being rude. Especially the comment about my friends - that was pretty uncalled for.

However, some of the comments made me think. So for those, thank you. The other rude comments, I'll just dismiss. I think that some people thought it was an opportunity to try and knock me down a peg. Didn't work :D Yes, I am that cheerful all the time and I'm not faking it. Sorry to those who think otherwise.

Back to regularly scheduled programming:

I only have ONE final this week! It's not even a final, either. It's a "last quiz" as my Art professor calls it. Hopefully I can score at least a B on it. It's all over 14th Century art...which is rather boring, in my opinion. We must have taken a look at a dozen different "Virgin and Child" portraits, sculptures and paintings. They get REALLY repetetive.

So far, it looks like I'm going to have an A in Business and Professional Speech, an A in Public Speaking, and an A in Weight training. Language and Comm theory I'm pretty certain I got a Low B/high C in and I'm thinking I could score a B in this Art History class if I try.

Pretty good semester, overall :D

I start summer school soon, though. It's going to be a pain in the ass, but I think it'll REALLLLY help me along with my degree plan! I'm taking two classes in the summer and after the fall semester, I'll only have five or six classes to take until GRADUATION!

The sooner I get done, the sooner I can apply to the JET Programme!! :D

In other news, I rolled out the kickboxing(kya!) bag Vaughn and I got for Christmas. It was fun...even though I broke open the skin on my knuckles. I used gloves too! :O I just want to get back into kickboxing(kya!) shape because I'm going to do it again come summer.
